Where is Los Cabos?
I am sure you are wondering by now, where is Los Cabos? You have heard throughout the website three different areas Los Cabos, Cabo San Lucas and San Jose Del Cabo. Here is the simplified version... Los Cabos is the municipality that includes Cabo San Lucas, The Tourist Corridor ( which is found in between Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo on the trans peninsular highway ) and San Jose del Cabo.
What is there to know about Los Cabos?
Well, Los Cabos is where the desert and the ocean collide. Los Cabos sits at the end of El Arco (the famous arch) like a sun splash oasis. Los Cabos really is a mix, it includes dry desert land, lush tropical forest and mountains with some of the world's best beaches. Los Cabos is situated at the tip of the Mexico's Baja peninsula.
This place is a part-time home to many Americans who have purchased vacation property. Sometimes it can be easy to forget you are in Mexico as the American accents greatly out weight the Mexican accents. This area lays claim to more than 350 days of sunshine per year. That means chances of it raining on your vacation are pretty slim! The climate there is dry and hot but, the breeze off of the Sea of Cortez makes it pretty enjoyable.
Fishing is the main sport there, mainly Marlin, which can range from 100 lbs and up. Between January and March is the perfect time for whale watching. The whales migrate there to Cabo's warm waters. There are many more things to do on land too.
